What we actually collect, plainly stated.

What we collect

Anonymous visit counts. A cookie tells us whether a visit is new or returning so we can count unique visitors honestly, without linking it to any identity.
Anonymous poll votes. A separate cookie per poll (e.g. tnr_poll_iran-nuclear-deal) stops the same visitor voting twice on that poll. It does not identify who voted.
Aggregate campaign attribution. When a link from one of our YouTube videos or comments includes a UTM tag, we tally a count against that source/medium/campaign combination (e.g. "12 visits from YouTube Shorts descriptions this week") -- never a per-visitor record.

What we don't collect

No user accounts, no sign-up, no passwords.
No email addresses, unless you choose to email us directly.
No third-party analytics or advertising trackers (no Google Analytics, no ad pixels) -- everything above is counted on our own server.
We never sell or share visitor data with anyone.

Third-party content

Video thumbnails and embedded players load directly from YouTube (owned by Google), which has its own privacy policy governing that request. Every headline links out to its original publisher's site, which has its own separate privacy practices we don't control.

Cookies, in full

Our own cookies are two kinds, both first-party and both described above: one visit-dedup cookie, and one per-poll vote-dedup cookie for any poll you actually vote on. Neither is used for advertising or shared with a third party.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including (where you've consented, in regions that require consent) ads personalised from your visits to this and other websites. You can control ad personalisation at Google's My Ad Center, and learn how Google uses data from sites like this one at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Advertising is the only third-party data sharing on this site, and it never includes anything you type here (searches, votes, or poll answers all stay first-party as described above).
